When you see libra, I want you to think:

Relationships
Collaboration
Balance
Fairness
Equality
Harmony
Appreciation of Beauty

Libra is the peacemaker. The relationships guru. The people pleaser. The lover. The mediator. Libra season is all about the other.

Libra is the mirror. The scale. During this time, we’re naturally inclined to learn through, with, and from others.

As I see it, there’s a duality to Libra season.

Because nothing exists on its own–– it’s a time that asks us to see things in relationship to something else. On the one hand, this can make it harder to make decisions for ourselves, or put ourselves first. Yet it also provides us the opportunity to recognize two sides of every coin. We’re encouraged to look at things from all angles.

God knows 2020 needs a MAJOR dose of balance, fairness, equality, and harmony. Of being in true relationship with others, and taking the time and effort to put ourselves in other people’s shoes.

But when I sit here and think about an aspect of Libra season I want to highlight, my heart keeps coming back to the knack Libra’s have for recognizing and appreciating beauty.

In addition to everything I’ve already mentioned above, Libras are the artists. The creatives. They don’t just see (and contribute to!) the beauty, design, and many colors of the world. They see them in spite of or alongside all the ugliness, too. That’s where the scale or duality of Libra season comes into play. This is a time that allows us to see things as they are without sacrificing our ability to see the beauty, joy, and wonderful moments too.

So over the next month, in honor of Libra season,

Can you take the time to notice how the afternoon light hits the wall just so?
Can you savor the sweetness of that fresh, juicy apple?
Can you marvel at the changing leaves?
Can you relish in the coziness of your favorite sweater, necessary again for the crisper mornings and shorter days?

The beauty is still there. We just have to pause, take a deep breath, and stay present long enough to see it.
